Baby girl's first sundresses!

Grandma Bunker and I stumbled across a cute boutique here in Hawaii
and couldn't resist these cute sundresses for next summer.

I can't wait to see how cute she will be!

28 Weeks!

Here's how I'm celebrating "officially" being in my third trimester...

For the record, Baby girl is LOVING Hawaii!

Purple is fun too!

I had to post a picture of this fabulous gift for Baby girl from one
of my wonderful co-workers. She is so blessed to have Mommy's
spectacular work family in her life... and so is Mommy!

I'm thinking a very special newborn picture will have to be taken in
these. Perhaps with a little black tutu?

100 days to go!

You may have already noticed: today, March 10, the pregnancy widgit on
this blog says I have exactly 100 days to go.

Or, if you prefer the countdown by weeks, I have 14 weeks and 3 days
to go.

No matter how you look at it, it's exciting. Now the plan is KEEPING
her in for most of that time...

Although I have to admit my new-found hobby of buying adorable baby
girl things hasn't caused me to contract!

The above picture is what I got to celebrate hitting 100 days on the countdown (because of course every newborn baby girl needs her own swimsuit and cover-up!)

I've been having some fun...

25 weeks down... 15 more to go!

I (with a lot of help from Jim and Grandma Bunker) have started working on the nursery and Baby girl's little wardrobe. Jim and I finished our registry at Target and have settled on "Mocha Ladybug" by Tiddliwinks for her bedding. The colors are chocolate brown and blush pink with a cute ladybug and flower motif. We don't have any furniture yet except for a gliding rocker Grandma and Grandpa Brown got us for Christmas, so the room is still completely empty save the rocker and a basket with the few outfits and things I've been collecting.

I have to admit it's fun shopping for a little girl in the spring-time. I love the pink-and-brown combination for baby girl clothes and it's exciting to imagine how precious she will be in these little outfits. Here's a picture of one of the exceptionally cute baby girl items I have so far!

Contractions, part 2.

What a super terrific week it's been already.

It started on my second night shift of the three I was scheduled to work this week. Somewhere between a crash c-section and a really horrible vaginal delivery, I didn't get a chance to eat or drink or take a break for 9 hours. Apparently my uterus did not appreciate that because by the end of my shift I was contracting painfully again (and in tears).

I monitored myself for an hour, saw I was contracting every 5 minutes, and decided to go home. I was exhausted and had to be back to work that night so I promised my co-workers I would drink plenty of water and it would all be ok.

It wasn't ok. Between painful contractions and having to pee every 45 minutes from all the water I drank, I didn't sleep at all. I returned to work early to monitor myself again, saw I was still contracting, and broke down sobbing (more or less from exhaustion than pain this time).

A few minutes later I was in an exam room with an IV and Dr. H was on his way. Two liters of fluid and dozing in and out of sleep for a few hours made my angry uterus calm down and they sent me home to sleep.

So all's well that ends well. Baby girl didn't seem to mind the contractions as much as I did. I'm just hoping "Contractions, part 3" will hold off for a good 13-15 more weeks.
